Teaching
of Krishna and Rayar towards the power of Daana, Donation and
Mantralaya contribution to society is described in two parts of
Mantralaya(1062) and 1063
Meaning
My
recent journey to Mantralaya left me astounded as I witnessed a daily
influx of over 50,000 individuals, even on non-peak days.. What's truly
remarkable is the equality and compassion that pervade the atmosphere,
where every single person receives equal treatment and is served
nourishing food blessed by Sri Rayaru. It's a testament to the spirit
of community and service that defines this sacred place.
Sri
SubhudendraTeertharu plays a vital role, as he bestows blessings upon
every visitor by giving them Mantrakshate, ensuring that each person
feels the divine presence in their life. Moreover, the tradition of
Tataya adds another layer of spiritual connection. Swamiji offers
Tataya to individuals, allowing them to express their problems and
concerns. These Tatayas, in a tradition spanning over 350 years, are
revered each day, with Lord Krishna idol, a creation of Sri
RaghavendraTeertharu during his visit to Udupi, gracing the worship.
The story of Sri Krishna appearing before him in Udupi adds a profound
dimension to this ancient tradition, connecting the past with the
present.
The divine blessings continue to pour forth at
Mantralaya, and one of the most sacred experiences is witnessing the
Moola Rama pooja. It's a moment of profound spiritual connection, a
blessing that touches the hearts and souls of all who are fortunate
enough to partake in this sacred ritual.
In this unique place,
there's a heartwarming absence of any expectation for people to make
donations. The spirit of selflessness and service has been preserved
for centuries, thanks to the blessings of Rayaru. This tradition of
offering free food has been steadfast, embodying the timeless values of
compassion and sharing.
The Mutt Managers and Staff, with their
warm smiles and welcoming demeanor, create an atmosphere of genuine
hospitality and kindness. It's a testament to their dedication and the
sense of community that flourishes here.
This spirit of giving isn't
confined to just one location; there are many thousands of Rayaru Mutts
throughout India, all of which uphold the noble tradition of providing
free food to countless people. The Rayaru Mutt places little importance
on seeking publicity for their generous offerings. In fact, it stands
as one of the rarest of spiritual centers, silently feeding multitudes
of people. This humility is rooted in the teachings of Krishna and
Rayaru, who emphasize that the act of Dana (Donation) should always be
performed without any intention of seeking recognition. It's a powerful
reminder that the true essence of giving lies in the purity of the act
itself.
Absolutely, I'm eager to tell you a heartwarming story
from the time of the Mahabharata that highlights the remarkable impact
of giving without expecting anything in return. This story beautifully
illustrates the straightforward yet profound strength of selfless
donations.
Nestled within a bustling town, there lay a lush
green hill of unparalleled beauty. This hill was a haven, graced with
an abundance of precious trees and a colorful array of flowers. It was
as if Mother Nature herself had carefully crafted this serene
masterpiece.
The hill's unique positioning was a marvel to all
who beheld it. One side of the hill integrated seamlessly with the
town, its presence a daily reminder of the splendor of the natural
world. The other side, a spiritual retreat, was home to an ancient
temple.
Reaching the temple was no ordinary journey; it was a
path of devotion and contemplation. Pilgrims and seekers would embark
on a trek from the foothill of the hill, ascend to its pinnacle, and
then descend to the sacred temple grounds
At the hill's base,
life flowed freely in the form of freshwater. Two sparkling streams
framed the hill's bottom, providing a lifeline for the townspeople and
a vibrant habitat for aquatic creatures of all kinds. The waters were
the heartbeat of the community, sustaining its residents, quenching
their thirst, nurturing their crops, and offering refuge to the
creatures that thrived within.
In this enchanting town, where
nature and spirituality harmoniously coexisted, the hill served as a
symbol of unity and balance. It was a place where the stories of the
land and its people were written in the gentle sway of leaves and the
soothing murmur of the flowing waters, a testament to the profound
connection between humanity and the natural world.
On this
sacred hill, in the tranquil moments before the sun graced the horizon
with its golden rays, Lord Krishna and the valiant Arjuna would gather.
Here, amidst the splendor of nature, they would spend hours in deep
communion, appreciating the awe-inspiring dawn and the beauty that
surrounded them.
Lord Krishna, with his infinite wisdom, would
impart profound knowledge to Arjuna, sharing the secrets of the
universe and the profound truths of life. Their interactions were not
mere conversations but a divine exchange, lasting for hours as they
delved into the intricacies of existence.
The hill, in all its
majesty, considered itself supremely blessed, for it had the honor of
hosting the divine feet of Lord Krishna and witnessing the profound
teachings that echoed through the ages. The trees that graced this
sacred ground counted themselves among the luckiest in the world, for
they had the privilege of listening to the wisdom that flowed from the
lips of the Lord himself.
In this tranquil town surrounded by
nature's beauty, there lived a humble Brahmin priest. He began each day
with the gentle arrival of the sun, emerging from his small, modest hut
where he resided with his devoted wife and their two children. While
priest’s physique was far from robust, and his appearance suggested a
life of limited means.
Each morning, as the first rays of
sunlight gently touched the earth, the Priest would set out from the
outskirts of the town, starting his ascent from the foot of the hill
that graced one side of the community. With determination etched on his
face, he used to climb upward, step by step, as he made his way to the
hill's summit.Upon reaching the pinnacle, the Priest descent began,
taking him to the other side of the hill and leading him to the town's
cherished temple. Here, he would devote himself to the sacred rituals,
offering his prayers with profound sincerity.
Having completed
the morning's puja at the temple, the Priest spiritual journey was far
from over. He once more began his ascent, this time from the temple
side, scaling the hill to reach its crest.
As he reached the
hill's summit for the second time, priest would turn his steps back
towards the town. The descent from the hilltop was a peaceful journey
filled with reflection, an opportunity for him to connect with the
natural world around him. With very little money that he got he would
spend everything on his family.
Every single day, the Priest repeated this extraordinary pilgrimage.
Arjuna
had been observing the priest's daily routine, and after a heartfelt
conversation, he understood the priest's hardships. A deep sense of
empathy washed over him. One bright morning, as Arjuna stood atop the
hill, he confided in Sri Krishna, saying, "I've decided that the priest
need not make this arduous trek to the temple anymore. I shall provide
him with the means to lead a more comfortable life."
In the
forthcoming series, let us keenly observe whether Arjuna can alleviate
the priest's financial predicament and unravel Lord Krishna's
perspective on this unfolding situation.
The devotion towards
Sri Raghavendrateertharu is the ultimate truth and is the most simple
