Bhikshaalaya
Darshana - 1
(Sanctum of Bhikshaalaya )
Date : 28 Jun 2006
Background
The sanctum of Bhikshaalaya (Bichchale) of Sri Appanacharya,
its abundant nature’s gift and the liking of
the great pontiffs are described in Bhikshaalaya (1).
Meaning
I feel and think that it is my and sacred duty to
describe Bhikshaalaya to our devotees in Mantralaya Series. The native place of Sri Appanacharya is famous, popular and wellknown
for its sacred sanctum. Mother nature’s
gift is ample.Tungabhadra river is flowing with
force. Bhikshaalaya people pronounce as Bichchale for their convenience. Bhikshaalaya
is situated in the district of Raichur, taluka of Raichur, Karnataka (India). It is
between Mumbai- Chennai Railway line. After crossing
the river Tungabhadra we will find Tungabhadra railway station now called Mantralayam Road.
Before crossing the river Tungabhadra we will find Bhikshaalaya a little far about five kilometers from the
Railway line. Mantralaya is fifteen kilometers from Mantralayam Road.
Bhikshaalaya is on the bank of Tungabhadra
with full of trees and green fields, crops nod their heads with joy under the
kind affection of mother nature. Tungabhadra
river’s flow has added enormous
beauty and importance to Bhikshaalaya. Though Bhikshaalaya is a small village, owing to the stay of
divine personalities, it has attained great importance.
Bhikshaalaya is very sacred
that it has given birth to Sri Appanacharya a great devotee, full of knowledge, imagination, creativity,a
great patriot and the follower of Sri Madacharya. Here
there is a stone platform under the thick shadow of Vatavraksha,
very adjacent to the river Tungabhadra. Devotees call
this stone platform as JAPADA KATTE. The sanctity and the profound silence are
quite pleasing to the divine personalities. Our Mulabagilu Sri Sripadarajaru
simply gave his heart to the cool and comfort sanctum, stayed here for some
days and spent in Japa-Tapa, Dhyaana-Aahneeka.
Sri Sripadarajaru has done the pratishthhaapana
of Sri UgraNarasimhaDevaru killing HiranyaKashyapu on his laps with the nails, thus denoted
the arrival of Bhakta Prahlada
Avataari Sri Raghavendrateertharu
on this calm and quiet, cool and comfort bank of Tungabhadra.
Sri Sripadarajaru did Paathha-Pravachana
sitting on this JAPADA KATTE. How sacred and what an amount of Punya is there in Bhikshaalaya !.
The
JAPADA KATTE as already said is very close to the river, under the immense
thick cool shadow of Vatavraksha. Tungabhadra
is flowing with force through several rocky stones of different sizes making
different noise. The Tungabhadra’s
flowing is the only companion to the residents of Bichchale.
Satvikas feel and think that this sound is nothing
but the Omkaara of Sri Harisarvottama
and Vayujeevottama. Thus the JAPADA KATTE is famous
and popular for its Sanctity and welcome the Sadhu-Santas-Rishi-Munis.
Sri Vyasarajaru has done the Pratishthhaapana
of PraanaDevaru in his own style using the charcoal
for the sketch. Like this more than 732 PraanaDevaru
are installed by Sri Vyasarajaru through out the bank
of Tungabhadra only. It is quite heartening to note
the unique way of propagation of VayuJeevottama Tatva by Sri Vyasarayaru. Sri Jitamitraru also spent some days on this JAPADA KATTE and
has done the Pratishthhaapana of Shesha
Devaru on the Shila very
beautifully The total scene of Tungabhadra river is encuraging, rejoicing
,rhythmic under the mother nature’s
glorified greenery at the JAPADA KATTE.
The
geographical features are quite soothing to the saints-satvikas
and thus Bhikshaalaya has attained an important
position by our great Sri Appanacharya and Mantralaya Rayaru. The
stay of Mulabagilu Sripadarajaru,
Sri Vyasarajaru, Sri Jitamitraru,
Sri Raghavendrateertharu and Sri Appanacharya
have engraved Bhakti-Gnyaana-Vairaagya on the
rocks of Bhikshaalaya on the bank of Tungabhadra and sowed in the red soil of Bhikshaalaya. By road while going to Mantralaya
at the left we find Panchamukhi that is Gaanadhaalu Panchamukhi,
at the right Bhikshaalaya enrouting
Gille Sugur Camp and Yele Bichchale. Panchamukhi and Bhikshaalaya are
to the left and right of Mantralaya very dear to our
Sri Madacharya and welcome the devotees. The
greatness of Bhikshaalaya will be continued in the next Mantralaya
Series
