Sri Raghavendrateertharu’s Sri Rajagopala stotra and the Mahima of Mannar Gudi are described in Mantralaya(828).

Meaning

Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru is very dear and near to Sri Hari. The greatest devotee, Paramabhaktaru! Bhagavadbhaktaru! Sri Krishnopaasakaru! During the sanchaara of Udupi owing to the Chaaturmaasya Rayaru decided to perform the Chaaturmaasya DeekshaaVrata in Udupi only the most sacred Rajata Peethha. Rayaru engaged in the routine of Nitya Sri Krishna  Darshana, Pooja, Pravachana and Granthha Rachana and lokoddhaara. Rayaru is highly fortunate to avail the Pratyaksha Darshana of Manthhanakara Sri Krishna in Udupi.

As a great mahima and the remembrance of this sacred historic incident Rayaru prepared the golden idol of Sri Krishna in Udupi only and started worshipping daily. The pooja is continued today by all our Paramahamsa Peethhaadhipatees. The sacred and siddhi Mruttika of our Rayaru is filled in the Yantra Talisman, such as Sarvasiddhi yantra, Santaana yantra, Bheeti yantra,  placed at the divya sannidhi of our Udupi Sri Krishna idol, worship and pray and then offered to the desired devotees with mantrakshate phalamantrakshate by our Swamiji. This noble tradition is still continued in our Mantralaya Rayaramatha and the devotees are greatly benefitted and they are bent with gratitude to our Rayaru, Rayaramatha and our Peethhaadhipati Parama Poojya Sri Subudhendrateertharu.

Sri Venugopala Sri Rajagopala Sri Madanagopala are all of our  Sri Krishna Mahimaaloka Bhaktaanugraha Saakshaatkarara! As per our Shilpa Shaastraanusaara Sri Venugopala has two hands, in the right hand holding flute and playing. Sri Rajagopala has two hands, holding a chaati in the one hand and holding the stick in the other hand. Really quite attractive. Sri Madanagopala has eight hands,  Yentu Kai holding the flute in the two hands, in the other hands Shankha, Chakra,  Gada(mace), Padma and fresh sugare cane (Kabbinajalle) and Pushpabaana(arrow of flowers)  the unique style is special in its own way!

Dear let us go into the details of Mannaar – Mannaargudi. In South India our Tamilu Naadu is famous for the temples, Tanjore is popular and well known as the Temple city. Mannaar Gudi  Sri Krishna is full of Mahima! Sri Rajagopalaswami is the Aaraadhya Adhidaiva of Mannar Gudi.  The Nitya Sannidhaana of Swami Sri Hari is quite powerful – jaagruta.  Mannaar  is situated on the sacred bank of Kaveri river, previously it was a place full of natural beauty with rich greenery, there was a Agrahaara of Shrotriyaas! Shrotriyas means, sober, satvika, sajjanas well versed in Veda Shruti Shastra puranaas etc. and always engaged in Adhyayana Adhyaapana and yajana yaaga. Once Sri Haritasa  Rushi came to this bank of kaveri searching a suitable place to sit for Tapasya. Satisfied to look at the profound silence, serene calm and quiet place, decided to sit for Tapasya. A Asura - Daitya - Raaksha his name was Mannaar. Mannaar tried his level best to spoil the intense Tapasya of Haritasa, gave lot of trouble to him. Finally Sri Hari Jaganniyamaka Jagadoddhaaraka Sri Krishna came to the rescue of Haritasa and killed Mannaar. So this place is called as Mannar, Owing to Sajjanoddhaaraka Sri Krishna Paramatma’s Saakshaatkaara to protect the muni Haritasa and Mannaar daitya is responsible in bringing Sri Krishna, this place is called and became popular as Mannaar Mannaaragudi!

Cheekalaparavi Sri Vijayadasaru described in Sulaadi in the above lines. Owing to the great Mahima of Swami Sri Krishna Sri Rajagopala Mannaar Gudi gained the popularity of  Dakshina Dwaraka and it is called by this name only.Sri Purandaradasaru  Sri Vijayadasaru have described in their songs with utmost devotion and affection to Sri Krishna Paramatma.

I wish to draw the attention of all the devotees of this universe that Sri Narahari Sri Vedavyasa Sri Rama Sri Krishna Sri Vishnu Sri Hari Sri MannNarayana Sri Srinivasa are all the names of our Sri Hari. Those who are broad minded with magnanimous heart, know and believe can understand the greatness of Sri Hari Sri Harisarvottamatva Mahima are sure to acquire the Anugraha of Sri Hari. Our Adhidaiva Karunaalu Mantralaya Prabhu Sri Raghavendrateertharu belongs to this group. Rayaru’s SIX Shlokas of Mannaar Swami Sri Rajagopala Stuti is really meticulous and superb in all respects.

Now I wish to share the miracle Mahima Leela Vinoda of Sri Rajagopalaswami to our Sri Vijayadasaru. Once Sri Vijayadasaru had been Mannargudi. After taking holy dip in Haridraa with pure madi, chanting the mantas climbing the steps of the temple a young boy of six years laughing and looking at Dasaru simply did the splash towards Sri Vijayadasaru. Dasaru went to the river and took a dip and started climbing the steps. The boy laughing at Vijayadasaru did like this for seven times. Again Dasaru went to the river took a dip and started climbing the steps of Mannaargudi. With a smile glowing face young lad  appeared on the way, looking this time the anger of Sri Vijayadasaru knew no bonds! The boy looking at Vijayadasaru, filled the water in his mouth and spit the water to the face of Sri Vijayadasaru. Walked there. This was the eighth time. Felt sorry for getting angry towards the boy. Immediately remembered the Baala Leela Vinoda of Sri Krishna in Nandagokula. Decided that the boy is none but Swami Sri Krishna Mannar Sri Rajagoplaswami. -  Dasaru briskly walked to reach the boy and ask him who are you? The joyful smiling boy disappeared and Vijayadasaru could not find him anywhere. Sri Krishna clarified the Madi - purity of heart is the real madi. The bondage of narrow minded thinking of madi mailige Pavitra and Apavitra must be cleared in our heart and mind. So practically clarified in this way. Devotees who are free from the enemies of ARISHAD VARGAS such as Mada, Moha, Matsara, Dwesha, Krodha and revengeful nature etc. and feel that my purity is not special and supreme, I am one with all. This broad feeling is NITYA MADI. Kind heart, affection, magnanimity and right thinking is equal to performance of purity Madi. When the Raagadweshas are filled in our heart telling Madi madi and simply pouring a little water and keeping the feet and jumpingly going is not desirable to our Mannar Sri Rajagopala. This is nothing but a mere show – Dambhaachaara. Our Mantralaya Rayaru also did not like. The very idea is described beautifully in Aaditya Puraana as below.

Let us surrender to the lotus feet of Sri Hari with firm faith and strong belief. That is what our Mantralaya Rayaru is doing even to this day. The pure heart and broadmindedness of our Rayaru cannot be excelled by any one in this universe. Devotees of Mantralaya are scattered globally in all the places, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, nation and gender. Rayaru is affectionetly embracing and blessing. Rayaru’s responsibility of protecting all is really amazing! So our Rayaru is the divine saint of this universe. All pray pronouncing the below shloka. This regular prayer of all the devotees.
