Bichali Sri Appanacharya Priya Mantralaya Sri Gurusarvabhouma Raghavendrateertharu has inspired me to describe the great devotee of Mantralaya Rayaru, who was the Native of Ibharamapura, only three miles from Mantralaya. By name Sri Krishnacharya- Krishnarya, Popularly called and Known as Ibhramapura’s Appa.
Great Chetanas born and blossom by the Punya of our land, language the devotion and the firm faith of the Satvikas. A Great soul, Hari Bhakta, Avatar Purusha has taken birth near Mantralaya, by name Krishnacharya Krishnarya, popularly called as Appa. Bhikshaalaya Japadakatti and Gaanadhaalu Sri Panchamukhi are on the left and right of Mantralaya, both are about sixteen kilometers, attracting the world devotees for their sanctity and Siddhi. In the same way Ibharamapura is also very near to Mantralaya towards the Kosigi is the place of our Appa Ibharamapura’s Appa. Though his name was Krishnacharya, very famous as Appa. People loved him, regarded him as he was a great Aparokshagnyani. In Mantralaya Rayaru sitting in the Brindavana has nourished and cherished the devotees, Bichali Sri Appanacharya has rightly said:
Agamya Mahima Lokae Raghavendro MahaYashaha
Sitting in the Brindavana at Mantralaya Rayaru is doing Miracles in the interest of the world devotees. Mantralaya the Sacred Sanctum, as said by Sri GopalaDasaru in one of the Suladis:
Hari Bhakta Prahlada Vara Yaaga Illi Maadi
Surarigamrutaunisi Pari Pari Kriye Maadi
Parishuddha Aadendaritu Ee Sthhaladalli
GuruRaghavendraraya Shareera Pogaadisilli Irutiharu Satata Niruta.
GuruRaghavendra during the Prahlada Avatara performed the best Yaaga and satisfied all the Gods, including the Tatvabhimani Gods, after performing several rituals Rayaru felt that he is pure, so entered Brindavana in Mantralaya and living there always protecting the devotees.
Ibharamapura is very near to such a sacred Mantralaya. This place is grateful owing to the birth of Parama Bhaagavata Appavaru. The Sacred air is blowing and flowing from Mantralaya. Under the Muslim rule this was Ibrahimpur, but actually Ibhavarada’s Shweta Dweepa is Ibharamapura on the bank of Tungabhadra. Completely moulded by his father and the Divine Grace of Sri Hari Vayu Guru, his personality grew and became like a big tree and thus became a great Devotee of Rayaru.
Devotees it is essential to know that Ibharamapura’s Appa belongs to a different type, never tried for any canvassing, fame or name, lived lonely, did some achievement Saadhana, made it useful to the younger generation, so as to guide them properly. The author of the great Harikathamrutasaara Sri JagannathaDasaru has said:
Mook Badhirarantipparo NolpaJanake
KaakuYukutigalanuTaararu Manake
Living like a dumb and deaf to others, never thought and never dreamt of any crooked ideas. Lived like an ordinary man and always thought of Extraordinary things. In the heart he was a great Vairaagee Bairaagee it means Vairaagya. Never exhibited this to others. What Sri Hari has offered in life availed and lived like Bhogi with all pomp and show and at the same time with all gratitude remembered Swami, that this is given by you, so I am accepting and enjoying, for this we say as Anusandhaana of Sri Hari. This great Chetana Ibharamapura’s Appa lived in this manner and became very dear and near to all to Rayaru and also to all the Devotees irrespective of caste and creed.
Sri Ahobalacharya was called as Obalacharya, a Satvika Vaidika Brahmin,a Pandit his wife Krishnabai a sober couple of Sri Rayara Mutt, Bhaaradwaaja Gotra, a Joshi by profession, never aspired for too much in life, not greedy. Sadaachaara Sampanna, lead a satisfied life with gratitude to Sri Hari. Staunch Believer of Harisarvottama Vayujeevottama, but they did not have Children. Prayed Kulaswami, a period of Forty days is called as Mandala, Performed the Seva in Gaanadhaalu to Sri Panhamukhi PraanaDevaru. After the Seva the Noble Couple came to Mantralaya, Prayed to Rayaru, lighted the NandaDeepas:
DeepaSamyojanaatGnyanam PutraLaabho Bhacvaet Dhruvam
And also did the Pratishthaana of Naaga Shila under the Ashwath Vruksha, where the Brindavana of Sri Sudharmendrateertharu , Suvrateendrateertharu etc. are existing today.
Completely surrendered to the Lotus Feet of Rayaru, the Padukaas, they are not ordinary, as our Bhikshaalaya Sri Appanacharya has said in the Mangalashtaka:
VidwadRajaShirahaKireetaKhachitaanarghyorRanaPrabha
RaagaghoughahaPaduka Dwayacharaha.
The Padukas of Rayaru are so Sacred that all the Kings and the Pandits have bowed down with Golden and diamond crowns, thus the Padukas are shining that and will remove all the Paapas, Collective Paapas. Such a Sacred and Divine Padukas are of Rayaru.
Further we find in Gurustotra:
YoBhaktya GuruRaghavendraCharanDwandamSmaran Yaha
Pathet
StotramDivyamidamSada Nahi Bhavaet Tasya Ashukham
Kinchan
Devotees with devotion always remember the lotus feet of Rayaru, chanting Gurustotra will never have any sorrows and miseries in life.
Thus with the strong faith our Sri Obalacharya and Krishnabai performed the
Seva of Rayaru in Mantralaya, Rayaru blessed the noble couple soon, they gave
birth to a male child, that child was our Ibharamapura’s Appa.
